Choose Yourself
Updated: Aug 31
Choosing to love yourself takes practice, especially if you've spent so much of your life choosing others. Let's get more specific. Choosing you can be difficult if you're used to putting guys above you. Giving your exes second chances they don't deserve, going on dates with guys you know only wanted one thing but hoping they wanted something deeper, replying to guys who have ghosted you more than once. Making the choice to say "no, I won't settle" is easy to say but can be harder to put into practice. At least it was for me, but God showed me my worth, He showed me my value, He reminded me of all He wants for me and why I can't let just anyone have access to me.

Settling for less means I'm not trusting God. I knew that this lack of trust came from a lack of faith. I started reading my Bible more, watching sermons, and spending more time in prayer. God began to change my heart and my desires. He made me want more for myself, He made me love myself more because of how much He loved me. When you spend time with God, you'll experience a peace that surpasses all understanding. You won't worry about hurrying and meeting someone because you'll love spending time with yourself. You'll learn to trust His timing. You'll gain discernment on those who don't mean you any good. Being in God's presence is the best place you will ever be. Choose you by choosing God.
Proverbs 3:15 She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.
